RAWSTOCK has finally done it, again. The entire saga of Every Day Is A Journey will be shown in its entirety on May 18th at SIFF Cinema at 8pm. Much like the enigmatic qualities of life itself, EDIAJ is as much about the story within the story as the story without the story. Only RAWSTOCK has the balls to reach out and touch local film-makers. This is what happened when we reached out to six of the funniest, most cutting-edge film-makers in the Seattle scene and asked them to, in turn, tell life’s story. View the new trailer of Every Day Is A Journey: The Complete Series and get your tickets here. See everyone at SIFF!

RAWSTOCK is keeping you on your toes and in your seat. We are a parad’uex among paradoxes. Next wed 2/23 the short film festival goes long.

I had the good fortune to see this piece of work of art a couple months ago. It is one of those movies that you don’t forget. Sometime ‘randomly’ a character from the movie will pop into the forefront of your mind and you’ll think-’why did he do that?’ or god-forbid, you meet someone like the title character’s mother, you will benefit from the forknowledge of knowing to run away.

This movie, unlike many movies, is truly a work of art. What makes one movie art and another entertainment? Hard to say. One of the principles of many religions is that you see yourself in all creatures, and see all creatures as a part of yourself. You end up identifying with the main character; you see yourself in him, even though you might not want to. Through that expierence you learn about yourself and the world around you, while having a good time- which to me is art.

And as always, one of the coolest parts of RAWSTOCK is the people who are there. Say you bought Christian Plamer a drink way back when…

that’s all I can think when I think of Damon Agno’s script for the next EDIAJ. Holy shit. What I love about it was that the script was so far beyond the realm of “normal” sensibility that even the old silverbacks here at RAWSTOCK got a little on edge. I haven’t had that kind of reaction to a script myself since reading Christopher Durang back in the ’90s in college. Outrageous and absurd.

But when you read a script there is one major thing lacking. The actor. A good actor can humanize the most cruel act. Something that may seem awkward on the page is hilarious when acted out–the right way. The director has to understand and communicate the writer’s vision. The Reidster (SonicsGate) has assembled a stellar cast (if I do say so myself). Even so, I have no idea what thing is gonna look like on the screen.

Look for more gratuitously compelling performances from Nate and as forgotten hot characters make a comeback, new characters are brought into the fold. Delve into the secret of the Octopus and eavesdrop as wisdom is revelaed. See you there!

Christian Palmer takes the reins of this beast EDIAJ and masters the animal. He leads us to unexplored territory within the realm of the characters’ world and the unexplored frontiers of your mind. Yeah man. It’s gonna blow your mind.

Say you saw Mitch McGee way back when. This guy’s as good as Conan and better than Fallon.

Impress your date with your knowledge of the local cinematic arts scene, watch cool films and, drink. This time I don’t have to be at work at 6:15 the next morning.

The centerpiece of November’s event will be the premieres of episodes 4 and 5 of Every Day is a Journey - the ongoing serialized film experiment created by Seattle’s top filmmaking talents. “Episode 4: Weird Weather” by visionary director Christian Palmer (William Never Married) stands out as a true game-changer with deepening backstories for all the main characters. The script was riveting, and the RAWSTOCK Mafia wait with baited breath for the finished product.
